Credit Manager

  • Responsible for approving new customer credit applications and setting up all new accounts
  • Performs credit investigation on all new customers and on existing customers with problems or need for additional credit limits
  • Manages staff and monitors all collection activities done by staff
  • Handles all credit references and credit inquiries
  • Engages customer's accounts payable organization to gain successful collection of accounts receivable or identify issues beyond its scope
  • Engages internal company departments/branches to resolve customer issue or deal with inability pay invoice
  • Works closely with credit bureaus to make credit extension decisions
  • Makes recommendations for establishment of credit limits, write-offs, and concessions of accounts receivable
  • Assists with legal issues regarding collections
  • Manages, coaches, counsels, guides and otherwise supports associates in their daily work efforts
  • Strong PC skills
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills-deals with internal and external customers
  • Problem solving skills
  • College degree in Finance or related field or comparable experience preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
